Update from Ministry of Energy: Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking (EWRB)

The Ministry of Energy sent a “Reminder to Report” email  for properties that are expected to report annual energy and water consumption data by July 1, 2018. For reference, the text of the email that was sent is highlighted below.

As an owner of a large building in Ontario, you may be required to report and submit your annual energy and water consumption data to the Ministry of Energy each year.

If you have already entered your data in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®, please ensure that you complete the submission process by clicking this link to share your data with the Ministry of Energy: https://portfoliomanager.energystar.gov/pm/reports/dataRequest/accept/6af1098a-383f-4014-a826-262292168729

If you have not reported yet, data from the 2017 calendar year must be reported by July 1st, 2018 for buildings that are 250,000 square feet and larger.

IMPORTANT: You must enter the 15-digit Assessment Roll Number and the 6-digit Ontario EWRB ID (both provided below) correctly (no spaces or dashes) in the custom ID fields in Portfolio Manager in order to complete your submission or your data will be rejected. Follow these steps to complete your EWRB report:

  1. Gather your information for each building:
  • Building Address: <ewrb_property.ewrb_locationaladdress>
  • Assessment Roll Number (Custom ID 1): <ewrb_property.ewrb_assessmentrollnumber>
  • Property Code (Custom ID 2): <ewrb_property.ewrb_id2mpaccode>
  • Ontario EWRB ID (Standard ID): <ewrb_property.ewrb_propertyid>
  • Monthly energy and water usage for the 2017 calendar year. This can be found on your utility bills or by contacting your energy and water utilities.
  1. Enter and Submit your Data

Enter your data in Portfolio Manager® (first-time users must create an account). Complete the submission process by clicking this link to share your data with the Ministry of Energy: https://portfoliomanager.energystar.gov/pm/reports/dataRequest/accept/6af1098a-383f-4014-a826-262292168729
