POA Costs and Fees Review Working Group Update

In response to concerns expressed by the Municipal Partners pertaining to the Ministry of Attorney General’s (MAG) recent increase of specific Provincial Offences Act (POA) cost recovery rates that took effect on January 1, 2016, the POA Costs and Fees Review Working Group was formed.   The working group consisted of joint representation from the Municipal Court Managers Association and OMTRA.  The work group has recently submitted a report to MAG with several recommendations including a increase to the fees in Ontario Regulation 945 and the introduction four new collection fees.   All recommendations are supported by detailed analysis and rationale.
